APPLICATION
Tinted Glosses were designed for use on transparent minis, but also work great on opaque models. The best way to think about Tinted Glosses is to treat them like colored top coats. When you've finished painting a mini, it's common to seal it with a matte or gloss sealer. Tinted Glosses behave the same way, just colored variations. If you put on too much sealer, your figure might look "goopy," or you might see leftover brushstrokes.

Good: If you are using a regular brush, make sure you apply glosses in very light layers. The first layer may look like it isn't even there, but it'll look more even if you build up gloss in layers a little at a time instead of trying to put on a thick first layer.
Better: If you don't have an airbrush, the next-best option is sponging, similar to using makeup sponges with foundation. Stippling with a sponge can help to spread out the gloss more evenly across a surface and pick up excess gloss.
Best: An airbrush will apply a light, even coating over the whole figure to prevent excessive buildup in one spot.

THINNING YOUR GLOSSES
Tinted Glosses are designed to be thin, but if you want to thin them further, we do not recommend using water. Instead, we recommend using Reaper's 09106 Flow Improver. Using water could cause the pigment to separate from the gloss base, which may give you a different result than what you're expecting.

LAYERING ON OPAQUE MODELS
Layering these paints on opaque or painted models gives them a colorful, glossy finish. For example, layering the Tinted Red on top of a green base will still show the green underneath, but the red gloss will sit prominently on top with a shiny finish, as opposed to the matte finish that Master Series Paints have. This technique is good for adding detailing like slime, water, drool, goopy viscera, etc., to your painted figures.

LAYERING NON-TRANSUCENT MODELS
The original purpose of these tinted glosses was to tint our clear, transparent figures and add more color; they can also be used on colored, transparent figures to add color variation. For example, using the gold tint on a red transparent fire mini, you can tint the tips of the flames a lighter orange and make them appear more flame-like, or use the purple in the base of the flame to make it appear darker. Adding blue to the green translucent minis can bring out some of the depth of detail, or just tint your figure teal. Layering the same colors on top of each other will just enhance the vibrancy. Just keep in mind that when painting, whatever color you have underneath your gloss will show through.

MIXING YOUR GLOSSES
If you want to experiment with mixing the glosses together before application, they work just like mixing regular paints together with basic color theory: red and gold will give you an orange, green and blue will give you teal, purple and red will be a red-violet, while blue and purple will be more indigo.

Take your painting to the next level with Reaper Triads.
Whether you're a seasoned hobbyist or just starting out, the highly pigmented formula ensures smooth application and vibrant results, while the matte finish adds a professional touch.
